A pressure booster system raises water pressure to a level that fixtures, equipment and upper floors actually need. It combines one or more pumps, a controller and, in most designs, a pressure vessel, so that flow stays steady as demand changes across the building.
Any building where gravity or mains pressure is not enough - high-rise apartments and hotels, hospitals, malls, industrial process lines, irrigation and firefighting systems. It is also used ahead of RO and filtration systems, which need a minimum inlet pressure to work correctly.
A hydropneumatic system uses a pressure vessel and switches the pump on and off between set points, so pressure fluctuates within a band. A variable-frequency-drive system varies pump speed continuously to hold a constant pressure, uses less energy at part load and reduces water hammer and pump starts.
